This position can be based in either Antigonish or Stellarton, NS. The sales rep will travel to serve contractors within the region.

Contractor Sales Representatives partner with contractors to fully understand their needs and assist in planning construction projects. As knowledgeable sales professionals, contractor sales representatives are able to make recommendations which solve our customers' problems. That makes your role critical to the whole Kent team!
Typical career steps are to move to a specialized role in commercial or institutional sales, or to become a district sales manager.
Demonstrates high standards of safety and customer service
Produces quotes, material lists and follows up on deliveries
Achieves weekly, monthly and annual sales targets
Maintains a contact list and contact schedule for prospective and existing customers
Grows the geographic sales area by building new relationships with contractors and strengthening relationships with existing accounts
Continually learns about products and market conditions
Minimum of 2-5 years experience in a business to business sales environment
Knowledge of lumber, building materials and the construction process is an asset
Problem solver with a strong work ethic
Works well with minimal supervision
Ability to travel to customers' sites
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to quickly develop trusting relationships with new customers, and build report with existing ones
Organized, and can manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and use new computer programs is essential
