As part of the Helpdesk Support team, you will be responsible for timely and effective resolutions to end-user productivity issues as they relate to IT-serviced computer operations. This will be accomplished by performing question/problem diagnoses, guiding users through to issue resolution, communicating technical solutions in user-friendly language, and conducting end-user training where necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support – Troubleshoot:
  • Assist users with network connectivity, software/application, VoIP and operating system, creating new users and accounts and solving issues utilizing help desktop software for ticket tracking
  • Assist in installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and installs patches, resolve related problems, maintain data files
  • Configure new workstations and laptops for new employees
  • Perform standard administration tasks on Windows servers
  • Reviewing inactive user/computer reports and following corporate policies for deactivation.
System Management:
  • Manage Dell lease for all desktops and servers to ensure equipment is ordered/returned before lease expiry
  • Manage Desktop/laptop returns through Dell DFS as part of Lease management
  • Order new desktop/laptops through Dell premier page
  • Prepare and test Merit corporate image through Dell Image Direct
  • Procurement of software purchases (licenses, upgrades, renewals, etc..)
  • Other duties as assigned by the department
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree/ diploma in Business/ Computer Science or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Helpdesk or IT work experience
  • CompTIA A+/Network+ or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certification preferred
  • Ability to diagnose problems, perform repairs on IT assets, and provide support for a wide range of applications.
  • Experience with desktop and laptops hardware (memory, CPU, hard drives, wireless, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, MS Office, Adobe flash, active x components, Java, VPN software.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Knowledge or interest in travel industry
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Hours are commensurate with responsibilities and deliverables
  • Position is office-based, with some home-office flexibility
  • Some travel may be required
  • Regular daytime working hours, although some ad-hoc irregular working times might be required
