We are growing and building in more communities which means we are seeking an Construction Site Assistant for Green Cedar! New home construction knowledge is a must and adapting to high level change.

Responsibilities:
· Assist Site Supervisor with scheduling trades / suppliers and ensuring schedules are met.
· Assist Site Supervisor with resolving conflict on site, problem solving and making decisions quickly and effectively
· Performing ongoing hazard assessments and continually maintaining a clean work site for trades, suppliers, homeowners and the community
· Performing various repairs: ie: finishing, drywall, painting and clean up.
· Reviewing work orders on a daily basis and follow-up with homeowners to ensure work is complete.
· Preparing homes for walk-through inspections, and conducting walk-throughs with Customers
· Repairing houses as directed by the Site Supervisor (Bowed studs, squeaky floors/stairs, drywall cut for diagnosing issues etc.) Hands on, physical work is an important part of the role.
· Meeting with direct supervisor at designated time to discuss work completed and work to be assigned to trades.
· Making phone calls, sending emails and text messages to follow up with trades regarding timing for them to complete work on site.
· Prepare house for next trade as required including cutting concrete, covering floors, scraping floors, straw placement and removal and stripping floors.
· Vacuuming, organizing, and making the home readily available for the next trade.
· Organize all return items and arrange delivery.
· Daily, collect and dispose of debris at construction site, placing it in appropriate designated places, while ensuring compliance with waste recycling programs.
· Ensure availability of temporary heat for outside & inside trades (cribbers, tile setters, tapers, etc.).
· Locate waterboxes (dig up and repair) and ensure water turned on for each house; includes ensuring waterboxes are raised and marked for sod.
· Review, assess and report any issues on safety to Health & Safety Rep. or direct supervisor, includes ensuring protective gear used/worn.
· Address any complaints or inquiries forwarded by homeowners.
· Assist site supervisor with possession, walk throughs, attending client meetings.
· Demolish houses as requested
· Pick up and return construction material as needed; tiles, hardwood, lumber etc.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum 2+ years in residential home building.
· Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in multiple trades functions such as carpentry, drywall, painting, etc. is a requirement, as is knowledge of various tools and equipment
· Ability to coordinate several simultaneous tasks while maintaining a positive attitude and a flexible work style.
· Self-motivated with ability to work well independently.
· Must be punctual, reliable, and possess an excellent work ethic.
· General computer skills required.
· Excellent customer service skills in dealing with homeowners.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
