This is strictly an owner-operator opportunity. Atlas does not provide, rent, lease, or finance vehicles for drivers.

Earnings and Platform Fees
Drivers keep all passenger fares and tips collected from completed trips.
Atlas charges the following platform and dispatch fees:
- CA$20 per active operating day
- CA$0.25 per completed trip
- Applicable taxes
These are fixed platform fees. Atlas does not take a percentage of the passenger fare.
The advertised CA$20–CA$30 per hour represents estimated gross earning potential before operating expenses.
Actual earnings are not guaranteed and depend on passenger demand, operating availability, completed trips, service quality, and business expenses.
Mandatory Driver Requirements
Every applicant must:
- Hold a valid New Brunswick Class 4 or Class 4R driver’s licence
- Provide a recent and acceptable driver’s abstract
- Have a safe and responsible driving record
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Be able to operate as an independent contractor
- Have a reliable smartphone with mobile data
- Communicate professionally with passengers and dispatch
- Be dependable, punctual, honest, and customer-focused
- Be able to operate in Saint Stephen, New Brunswick
- Meet all applicable provincial and municipal requirements
Proof of the required driver’s licence will be requested.
Applicants without a valid Class 4 or Class 4R licence will not be considered.
Mandatory Vehicle Requirements
Every applicant must own a vehicle that:
- Has four doors
- Is model year 2018–2026
- Has active commercial insurance covering taxi or passenger transportation
- Is validly registered
- Has a current mechanical safety inspection
- Meets applicable provincial and municipal requirements
- Is mechanically safe and reliable
- Is clean, smoke-free, and free from strong odours
- Has working seat belts for every passenger position
- Has functional heating and air conditioning
- Has sufficient space for passengers and ordinary luggage
- Is maintained in professional operating condition
- Can pass Atlas vehicle approval
Applicants must provide:
- Vehicle year
- Vehicle make and model
- Current mileage
- Registration status
- Safety inspection status
- Commercial insurance information
Personal automobile insurance that excludes taxi, rideshare, vehicle-for-hire, or commercial passenger transportation is not acceptable.
Applicants without their own qualifying four-door vehicle will not be considered.
Main Responsibilities
Atlas drivers are responsible for:
- Transporting passengers safely and professionally
- Accepting and managing trip requests through the Atlas dispatch platform
- Confirming pickup locations and passenger destinations
- Selecting safe and reasonable routes
- Greeting passengers respectfully
- Assisting passengers with ordinary luggage when reasonably required
- Providing professional service to passengers from diverse backgrounds
- Following traffic, transportation, safety, and municipal regulations
- Keeping the vehicle clean, safe, and presentable
- Maintaining all required licences, registrations, inspections, and insurance
- Communicating professionally with passengers and dispatch
- Processing fares accurately
- Providing receipts when required
- Protecting passenger privacy and personal information
- Reporting accidents, complaints, safety incidents, or vehicle problems immediately
- Providing dependable service during accepted availability periods
Experience
Previous experience in any of the following areas is an asset:
- Taxi driving
- Rideshare or vehicle-for-hire services
- Commercial driving
- Delivery driving
- Passenger transportation
- Customer service
- Tourism or hospitality
- Senior or accessible transportation
Previous taxi experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Atlas will provide training on its dispatch and booking platform. This training does not replace mandatory driver licensing, vehicle, inspection, or commercial insurance requirements.
Flexible Availability
Drivers may provide availability for:
- Daytime
- Evenings
- Overnight
- Weekdays
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Full-time operation
- Part-time operation
Passenger demand may vary. No minimum number of trips, working hours, or earnings is guaranteed.
Independent Contractor Status
This is an independent owner-operator opportunity. It is not a guaranteed hourly employee position.
Drivers are responsible for their own:
- Qualifying vehicle
- Fuel
- Commercial passenger transportation insurance
- Registration
- Safety inspections
- Driver and vehicle permits
- Maintenance and repairs
- Cleaning
- Smartphone and mobile data
- Income tax and applicable business taxes
- Other operating expenses
The working relationship will be governed by a written independent contractor agreement and applicable laws.
