Here’s the job opportunity…
We currently have a great opportunity for a senior underwriter to join our team and make an impact. As a Senior Underwriter, your expertise will greatly complement and contribute to our department’s continuous evolution.
You will underwrite new business applications and non-contractual policy changes. Assess medical, financial and non-medical risk, including rated, modified and declined assessments appropriately using ivari’s underwriting guidelines, reinsurance manual, and procedures. You will:

Review applications for Life and Critical Illness, and associated underwriting evidence

Conduct risk assessment and classification according to ivari’s underwriting philosophy

Support the Underwriting Team Leads in day-to-day underwriting productivity
-
Maintain positive working relationship with internal and external partners
-
Consistently deliver an exceptional service experience to clients and advisors
-
Identify problems and opportunities for improvement, and offer potential solutions
-
Participate in projects related to technology, and guideline development as required
What we are looking for…
-
5-8 years of experience in individual life insurance underwriting
-
Excellent medical and financial underwriting knowledge
-
Strong decision-making skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Previous experience dealing with brokerage distribution network
-
University or College Degree, ideally in Business, Finance or Health Sciences is an asset
-
FLMI and FALU Certifications are an asset
