Becoming a Customer Services Assistant with Fera:
As a member of the PTG Customer Service Team, you will be carrying out order processing and corresponding with both direct customers and international agents by email and telephone. Procurement and expenditure recording for the team will also be part of the role.
The Proficiency Testing Group (PTG) is a team of 30 colleagues responsible for the organisation of proficiency testing schemes for food and environmental analysis laboratories on a worldwide basis. Proficiency testing is an independent check of laboratory procedures providing a completely confidential assessment of their capabilities. Not only does participation in the relevant testing schemes allow demonstration of system and the technical ability of stuff but it will also help gain ISO17025 accreditation. Schemes managed by the group currently include a food chemistry scheme, a food microbiology scheme, a genetically modified materials scheme, and a water and environmental scheme.
Proving to customers that an organisation has quality systems in place is an important part of building long term relationships and securing future business. Our customers are laboratories from both the public and private sectors with 80% outside of the UK.
What you’ll be doing:
Monitor the Fapas Info and Fapas Agents email accounts, answering or forwarding order or technical queries
Enter, check, and make amendments to orders for proficiency tests and test materials sales
Raise prepayment invoicing and release paid orders
Maintain the database on current and new customers
Raise POs for subcontractor work including receipting in test materials on stock arrival
Provide administrative support to the rest of the group including minute taking
What we’re looking for:
Ability to work as part of a team at pace and under time constraints
Customer service experience
Use of MS Office applications and databases
Knowledge of finance systems and invoicing would be desirable
Working within quality systems
