Are you passionate about fostering creativity, confidence, and a love of learning through music and literacy? Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Teacher for a work assignment at Redwater School. The successful candidate will teach Music and Band to students in Grades 5–12, as well as Junior High English Language Arts, helping students develop their artistic talents, communication skills, and lifelong appreciation for learning.
Located in the Town of Redwater, the school offers a unique small-town environment and serves approximately 300 students from grades 5-12. Approximately 30 staff members work together as a team to provide exemplary education for all students. Redwater School embodies a well-rounded philosophy in education through arts, academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, and citizenship. Community spirit energizes the hallways, encouraging students to “Make a Difference” while pursuing their unique paths to success.
What You’ll Be Doing
Teach grades 5 to 12 Music and Band, Junior High English Language Arts 7 and 8
Provide engaging and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance learning
Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Contribute to school initiatives and the broader school community
What You Bring
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Experience teaching Music and Band, and Junior High English Language Arts
Classroom management that fosters a safe and caring environment
Strong skills in using educational technology to support learning
