We are seeking a Sanitation Worker in our Fish Processing Plant located on the South Shore in Blandford, Nova Scotia. This is a full-time position working evenings Monday through Friday.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Ensure that all manufacturing equipment is cleaned, sanitized and handled according to company standards.
- Ensure plant hygiene of walls, ceilings and floors is adequate for production and quality requirements
- Assists in the cleaning of production lines and ensures that lines are properly cleaned within the acceptable time frame.
- Ensure all production accessories (bins, scoops, trays, containers, etc..) are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Move and dismantle equipment to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation.
- Ability to work as a 2-person team to ensure all plant equipment is fit for use, from a cleanliness/hygiene standpoint, for the following production day.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all required Health and Safety requirements.
- Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Steel-toed safety rubber boots (not needed right away)
- Ability to work doing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work with and around raw fish products
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Must be reliable and dependable
- While working, you must remove piercings, rings, neck chains etc.
- Ability to work in cold and wet work environment
· Comfortable completing documentation and scheduling of sanitation reuirements
· Open to being trained as required on handling, use and storage of chemicals
· Open to be trained on how to dismantle and break down equipment in order
REWARDS:
- Rate of pay: $17.15/hr (Increase after 90-day probation period)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 400 pm-100 am
