The incumbent is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of customs and electronic business transactions to protect train movement, customer service, and company revenue. The role ensures shipments are properly cleared at border locations, supports the transmission and correction of EDI transactions, and helps maintain the integrity of shipment information. The incumbent works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve transaction issues, meet regulatory obligations, and support safe and efficient rail operations.
Interpret and apply customs regulations, dimensional load requirements, tariffs, contracts, and shipment diversion procedures
Experience in customs operations, electronic business transactions, customer support, way billing, or a related operational environment*
Knowledge of dimensional load regulations, holds and overload procedures, diversion procedures, tariffs, and contracts*
Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Any experience, education, skills, knowledge, or certification identified above would be considered an asset
The incumbent receives training on applicable customs processes, EDI transactions, shipment information requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal systems and procedures. Training may include role-specific instruction on customs applications, operational reporting, and the handling of dangerous goods requirements, as applicable.
