Gerry Gordon Mazda is looking for an Automotive Service Technician that is currently licensed or near completion of an Apprenticeship Program. - Performing assigned work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy as outlined by Mazda procedures and processes.
- Diagnosing the cause of malfunctions and performing repairs.
- Coordinating with the Parts Department to ensure availability of parts.
- Examining the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required by Manitoba vehicle standards
- Documenting work performed as directed by Service Consultants.
- Road testing vehicles to ensure quality of repair and ensuring vehicles remains clean.
- Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and attending required training classes.
- Understanding and complying with regulations, such as safety requirements, hazardous waste disposal, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and other policies, procedures and programs as required.
- Wear appropriate safety equipment and clothing, to include safety glasses and footwear.
- The Automotive Service Technician will be required to work closely with others or independently, if needed.
- Dealership uniforms are provided.
- Job Qualifications:
Qualifications, Experience and Capability Requirements:
- Must be able to provide proof of Red Seal Certification for the trades of Automotive Service Technician, or be near completion of an Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship Program.
- Must have at least 3-years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician or Apprentice.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to:
- Operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely.
- Have manual dexterity in both hands and the ability to manipulate small objects.
- Drive a manual transmission (for road tests).
- Read and comprehend technical instruction.
- Be in good physical shape to meet job requirements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with the public.Salary: $24.00 to $34.00 /hour
