Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Educator Level 2/Level 3 to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, supporting their developmental needs, and fostering a positive learning experience. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs and disabilities. Bilingual abilities in English and French are highly valued to enhance communication with a broader range of children and families. Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention as needed.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure clear understanding of children's progress and needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's development, attendance, and daily activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to organize classroom routines, educational programs, and special events.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and health protocols to maintain a secure environment for children.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by guiding less experienced staff or interns when necessary.
- Manage time efficiently to balance classroom responsibilities with administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting; classroom experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to support diverse families.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education is a plus.
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written—to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Computer literacy including basic operation of computers, educational software, and record management systems.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while maintaining patience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Valid certification in childcare or early childhood education is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates. Pay: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
