Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Designer to join our team. This role involves creating detailed fire protection system designs for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting skills, proficiency with CAD software, and experience in construction or fire protection systems. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed fire protection system layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Create schematics and technical drawings that meet project requirements and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to integrate fire protection systems into building designs.
- Utilize SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and 2D animation tools to visualize and present design concepts effectively.
- Prepare comprehensive schematics and documentation for construction and installation purposes.
- Review project specifications and ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes and regulations.
- Assist in the review of construction progress to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Maintain accurate records of design revisions and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire protection system design or related field within construction or engineering industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and 2D animation tools.
- Strong drafting skills with the ability to produce precise schematics and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience with schematic development and system layout design.
- Construction experience is highly desirable to understand on-site implementation challenges.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into detailed designs.
