Job Description Summary:
The top country management position responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and controlling Canadian Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, ensuring that through a market specific version of the global, UNA and Country strategy, in-market tactics are deployed to effectively and efficiently use the resources available to deliver top and bottom line targets through driving the Uponor customer experience, while developing a sustainable business model and team.
Oversees the sales team’s activities to ensure focus and deployment of resources are most impactful for the organization. Leads the team through the frequently changing marketplace by providing a clear unit vision that ties into the UNA and global visions.
Oversees the regional marketing ensuring that there is complete sales and marketing alignment, while driving UNA integration and collaboration in order for the market specific requirements to be delivered.
Works with the wider UNA management team and across levels to ensure that the Canadian specific market requirements are integrated into the planning and customer experience delivery.
This is the senior Uponor position in Canada and as such is required to be the face of the company across industry functions and activities, communicating the Uponor value proposition and developing relationships across all value chain members that will benefit the organization.
Develops the strategic business plan for Canada that achieves defined annual revenue and profit targets. Provides oversight to the implementation of the sales and marketing tactics derived from the strategy for each region that will focus on best opportunities for profitable growth.
Leads and coaches the team, to assist in delivering their commitment. Drives accountability and development through coaching and talent assessment.
Develops Canadian revenue and expense budget from Uponor UNA guidelines, monitors regional performance, suggests and takes corrective actions when required to deliver on the key metrics.
Ensure team alignment, collaboration and communication across the shared services environment of Uponor UNA in order to help and drive delivery of all metrics.
Champions Uponor Canada both in-market and internally across the broader UNA organization.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree coupled with ten (10) plus years manufacturing / construction industry experience, or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years successful sales management experience; preferably leading both manufacturer’s reps and direct sales organization.
Strong understanding of business profit and loss drivers; ability to manage a functional P&L.
Strong understanding of legal process and contract law pertaining to purchase / distribution agreements.
Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
Proven and demonstrated leadership ability; excellent coaching skills.
A self-starter with strong independent work skills, prioritizing activities, understanding opportunity costs.
Ability to thrive and work in a team environment.
Extensive national and international travel required (50% or more).
Successful experience developing, leading, and executing commercial marketing initiatives.
Sound technical understanding of plumbing.
Prior experience working with plumbing contractors, mechanical contractors, builders/developers, wholesale distribution, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
