Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Injection Molding Operator to join our Production Team. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and supporting plastic injection molding equipment within our manufacturing environment. The Injection Molding Operator plays a key role in ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP, HACCP, quality, and safety standards. This position also supports preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting, equipment changeovers, and maintaining a clean and organized production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow GMP and Health and Safety Policies & Procedures, setting a positive example while exercising care with your work to prevent injuries to yourself and your co-workers.
- Become familiar with all machines/processes involved in our state-of-the-art production facility
- Maintain a clean workstation and production environment
- Follow all production guidelines and specifications
- Monitor production line to maintain smooth operation
- Report any issues to Supervisor on shift
- Responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the plant infrastructure and process equipment
- You will be trained in order to optimize your knowledge of our automated custom-built machines
- Responsible for maintaining HACCP standards
- Involved in all preventative maintenance programs
- Build; install; break down and maintain equipment as needed
- You will be part of the team that produces high quality Black Fly products. Food safety and security is of the utmost importance for you and for Black Fly
- Assist other departments as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3-5 years working in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent is required.
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently.
- Basic math skills.
- Physical dexterity.
- Able to meet rotating shift requirements.
- Reliable attendance is crucial for this position
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced beverage production environment.
- Requires standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, and ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to varying noise levels, moisture, and temperature changes.
- This position involves rotating shift work. Employees must be available to work all shifts as scheduled, including: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Day Shift), 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Afternoon Shift), 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (Night Shift)
- Overtime, weekend, or holiday work may occasionally be required, with pay and scheduling handled in compliance with ESA standards.
