About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing production uptime, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will oversee maintenance personnel, coordinate preventive maintenance activities, and support operational excellence across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations, company policies, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Lead and develop maintenance personnel, apprentices, and support staff to achieve departmental objectives.
- Drive equipment reliability and production efficiency through effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures and downtime events.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are executed efficiently to minimize production disruptions.
- Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new equipment and capital projects.
- Coordinate maintenance activities related to new product launches and process improvements.
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve equipment performance, changeover efficiency, and asset utilization.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical components are readily available.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance plant performance.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and develop action plans to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM) objectives.
- Support workforce planning, employee development, and performance management activities.
Qualifications
- University degree, college diploma, trade certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, tooling, manufacturing processes, and facility maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CMMS systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Preferred Experience
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of robotics, automation systems, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting capital projects and equipment installations.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
