Position Summary
Hayter’s Farm is a family-owned turkey farm in Dashwood, Ontario, proudly operating for over 75 years. Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Inspect equipment and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability enhancement.
- Install, modify, and commission machinery and equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
- Support production teams in achieving operational and efficiency targets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety programs, GMPs, HACCP requirements, and company policies.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices.
- Participate in facility improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
- Assist with contractor coordination and oversight when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, plumbing, gas fitting and electrical systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills. We all work together to move the business forward
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred
- Post-secondary education in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Electromechanical Technician, Industrial Electrician, Plumbing or related field
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, or other regulated food production environments.
- Ontario Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) license.
- Millwright (433A) certification.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Welding and fabrication experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces as required.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including refrigerated environments.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts when necessary.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
