Education level: DSC (Diploma of Collegial Studies) minimum, B.Sc. or B.Eng.
Specialization: Engineering, Telecommunications, Electricity or Computer Science

Tasks and responsibilities: We are looking for candidates with experience in design and detail engineering especially applied to the deployment of cellular networks and microwave links, IP technologies, optoelectronic equipment and the design of telecommunication sites.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of project manager or engineering director, you will be responsible for:

Participating in the planning, design and detail engineering;
Taking part in technical surveys;
Preparing technical drawings and specifications according to the clients’ requirements;
Preparing detailed specs and drawings for equipment racks and shelters;
Addressing and identifying equipment alarms;
Implanting and maintaining an equipment database;
Equipment installation drawings and specifications (microwave, modems, access systems);
Evaluating and selecting equipment suppliers;
Coordinating deployment projects;
Analysing and solving various technical problems;
Participating in projects advancement meetings;
Working in collaboration with other groups involved in a project;
Technical support for the client;
Coordinating various aspects of deployment;
Managing a variety of questions and requests relative to the equipment during deployment and preparation of an operational mode;
Capacity for work in a structured and organized environment (standards and methods).

PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 years relevant experience in one of the following:
Cellular and radio equipment (microwave, HSPA+, LTE, LTE Advance, 3G, 4G, UMTS, …);
Equipment and access systems;
IP networks and solutions;
Optoelectronic equipment (transport and access networks);
Fiber optic deployment and outdoor networks;
Telecommunication site design.

Knowledge and experience with cellular and telecommunications standards will be considered an asset;

Capacity for technical writing;

Available for travel within Quebec and Canada;

Excellent written and spoken French and English skills;

ASP Accreditation (Health and Safety on Construction Sites) will be an asset;

Basic office software knowledge: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access), Visio, AUTOCAD.
