Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will provide professional massage therapy services to promote relaxation, pain relief, and overall well-being for our clients. This role requires a dedicated individual with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of medical terminology to ensure effective treatment plans and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ needs and develop personalized massage therapy plans
- Perform various massage techniques to alleviate pain, reduce stress, and improve mobility
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records, including treatment notes and progress reports
- Educate clients on post-treatment care and recommend appropriate therapies or lifestyle adjustments
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all clients
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation procedures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when necessary to support comprehensive patient care
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Registered Massage Therapist in accordance with state requirements
- Prior experience in a clinical or spa setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to massage therapy and healthcare communication
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and ensure client comfort
- Excellent communication skills to effectively explain treatment procedures and address client concerns.
Requirements:
Registered Massage Therapist Licence
Must be in good standing with the MTAA, RMTA or NHPC in Alberta
Experience within a rehabilitation setting or multidisciplinary team is an asset
Interest in perinatal care is an asset but not required
Must hold professional liability/malpractice insurance
