ABOUT THE POSITION
Nahanni Construction Ltd. is hiring local General Labourers for Yellowknife, NT.
The candidate would be required to perform miscellaneous tasks, including housekeeping, assisting carpenters and drywallers, insulating walls, positioning materials throughout the building, and landscaping. The candidate would also be required to assist with miscellaneous Site Services, as required.
SCOPE
- Sweeping/Clean-up of the building;
- Organize and maintain tool crib;
- Load the building/rooms with various materials
- Insulate walls;
- Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, drywallers and painters in construction activities
- Landscaping/leveling earth to finish grade with a rake and shovel
- Installing temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails and barriers as required;
- Participating in daily toolbox talks;
- Reviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard Assessments;
- Participating in weekly safety meetings;
- Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be a hazard or danger to oneself and other workers;
- Reporting all incidents/accidents including “near misses”
REQUIREMENTS
- 17 Years of Age.
- Construction experience would be an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Ability to learn quickly and keep up with tight schedule
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Able to complete physically demanding work with significant periods of standing and kneeling.
Job Type: Seasonal
