Job Summary: Triumph Tool is looking for a driven, energetic and technically minded Technical Sales Representative to join our growing GTA sales team.
This is a business development-focused role for someone who understands metalworking, CNC machining and manufacturing and wants to build a career in technical sales.
We are looking for a hunter, someone who enjoys opening doors, finding opportunities, building relationships and winning new business. You will manage an existing customer base, but the primary focus will be new customer acquisition, territory growth and increasing our share of the market.
You may currently be a CNC machinist, programmer, setup technician, manufacturing technician, or technical sales representative. If you understand machining, are competitive and have the drive to win, we want to hear from you.
Territory: GTA East and North
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, identify and develop new manufacturing customers.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on new business.
- Develop and execute a territory plan to drive revenue growth.
- Spend significant time in the field meeting prospects and uncovering opportunities.
- Leverage your technical knowledge to identify customer challenges and recommend metal cutting tools and productivity solutions.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities to increase our share of their tooling spend.
- Work with machinists, programmers, engineers, purchasing teams and management.
- Work closely with our leading manufacturing partners to develop technical knowledge, identify opportunities and bring the right products and solutions to customers.
- Leverage supplier expertise, product training and technical resources to support customer applications and drive new business.
- Coordinate product testing and demonstrate measurable value to customers.
- Provide technical support and build long-term customer relationships.
- Take ownership of your territory, activity and results.
- Work collaboratively with the sales team and internal support teams.
What We’re Looking For:
- Hunter mindset with a strong desire to win new business.
- Technical experience in CNC machining, metalworking or manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Competitive, energetic, persistent and self-motivated.
- Comfortable prospecting, cold calling and hearing "no."
- Naturally curious and enjoys solving problems.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and being accountable for results.
- Technical sales experience is an asset but not required.
- Valid driver's license
The Right Person
We're not necessarily looking for someone who has spent their entire career in sales.
Maybe you know the shop floor and are ready to take the next step. Or maybe you're already selling technical products and want an opportunity to build a territory and win more business.
We're looking for someone who is technical, competitive, curious, persistent and entrepreneurial.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Technical college diploma or post-secondary education in machining, manufacturing, engineering or a related field is preferred.
