What’s the job?
The Manager, Network & Telecom is responsible for managing a team of Network and Telecomm Analysts and Engineers. The team researches, designs, recommends and implements the core and edge production network infrastructure underlying transmission of all data from all wired and wireless IP devices across the Enterprise, to the Internet and with business partners including our public cloud providers; balancing performance, budget, scalability, resilience, security and business time-lines. The Manager, Network & Telecom collaborates with other IT teams to execute on the divisional strategy and ensures that his team delivers on projects and maintains business as usual operations.

Responsible for the management of financial aspects of network and telecom hardware, software and vendor services, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review
Leadership Build an effective and engaging professional team environment leading by example, providing coaching and mentoring to the team members, developing and managing performance of team members
Responsible to collaborate with the ITG and EPMO management on strategic, capacity and operational planning
Responsible for providing direction to Sr. Network and Telecom Engineers and Analysts and acts as a point of escalation for decision making regarding initiatives relying on network services.
Responsible for effective problem resolution and provide service improvement recommendations
Accountable to effectively document network architecture and topology
Responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures which support the provisioning and daily operation of network and telecom services
Accountable for team tier-3 support services to ITG technical staff
Responsible to coordinate resources and technical experts between the Network and Telecom team and other ITG and EPMO teams on projects
Participates as a member of ITG’s management team providing insight and constructive recommendations for managing the Network and telecom technology as it relates to supporting the CCS business requirements
Manages and coordinates all technical infrastructure products and services in context of Technology Life Cycle Management principles including upgrading and retiring existing services and introducing new technologies as appropriate
Ensure all third-parties (consultants, service providers, equipment vendors) are performing and delivering value to Coast Capital
Who are we looking for?
Minimum 4 – 6 Years of Job-Related Experience
5-7 years of broad experience proven network troubleshooting skills at engineering level, design/engineering of 25+ site networks and data center planning, wiring & maintenance experience and specifically with Cisco routers & switches.
3 years in defining and implementing Enterprise-wide network standards, documenting complex network topologies.
A minimum of 3 years management and leadership experience specifically in coaching, mentoring and developing employees.
Bachelor's Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer engineering. An equivalent combination of education and related Information Technology field experience will also be considered
Routing & Switching skills at CCIE level (BGP, OSPF, RIP, PVST,HSRP,etc)
Advanced knowledge and experience in VoIP
Advanced Cisco QoS experience (CCNP level or equivalent)
Advanced CCNP level security experience (i.e. VPN, IDS/IPS, Firewalls)
Solid Linux Server administration experience
Solid Experience in troubleshooting: DNS, DHCP, FTP, VPNs, LACP, SSL, NAT/PAT, ADSL/Cable Modems, copper/fiber wiring issues
Expert knowledge and understanding of network monitoring & performance technologies
Advanced understanding of Telco transport technologies (SONET, ATM, MPLS)
Advanced understanding of traditional Telephony technologies (PBX, PRIs)
CCNP and/or CCIE level certifications
Advanced Project Management skill and experience
Advanced skill in Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint
Expert level of communication skill including concise, clear oral and written communications.
Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise technical project lead.
Advanced aptitude and attitude for learning new technologies and/or applications.
Advanced budgeting, capacity planning, presentation skills
Advanced Vendor and relationship management ability specifically working with third-party providers, vendors and internal clients.
Proactive self-starter with advanced critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and exercises good judgment
Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize
