Reporting to the CTO, the Software Engineer in Test is responsible for the analysis, planning, development, execution, and reporting of test plans, scenarios, and cases produced to achieve thorough product testing and maintain agreed upon quality standards in order to provide the highest quality software products to both external and internal customers.
Enhance the test automation framework to extend capabilities for the project
Work with the QA & development teams to design, implement & execute an effective automation test strategy
Work with QA, development & product management teams to ensure that the design of test automation meets the needs of the project.
Maintain a source code repository of all scripts & programs related to the automation framework & tests
Review requirements and specifications and build test cases independently
Mainly perform front-end UI web application testing and some back-end as well
Ensure our website performs well in the most popular web browsers and devices
Validate that all pages, forms, emails, and content work and look adequate
Log defects accurately and with all the information required to replicate the bugs
Work with external developers to explain and resolve issues
Ensure all applications are being held to high-quality standards
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering
5+ years of experience in a QA role
Strong communication skills, able to convey information accurately and effectively
Experience working in an agile development environment
Strong understanding of QA testing methodologies and SDLC, able to write ample test cases based on application specifications
Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced project
Comfortable testing APIs
Experience testing web applications
Demonstrated expertise with automation tools
Strong people skills with an ability to work within a team
You have an inquiring mind and desire to highlight systems and processes that don’t make sense
Our office is located in Oakville, Ontario; however, we will consider remote applicants with the right skills and experience
This role is expected to begin remotely due to COVID-19
Preferred location is Greater Toronto area or surrounding suburbs
