Our Mining Technology Support Specialist will work in partnership with our Branches, Technical Services and our Sitech Business to provide onsite support for our Mining Technology Products through repair of Wireless Networks, MineStar Software and Hardware, with a specialized focus on semi-autonomous Command Systems and Line of Site Remote Control Systems.

Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
Perform warranty repairs to MineStar Products (Command and Line of Site Remote)
Provide Customer and Dealer Training of MineStar Products, repair and operation along with marketing strategies based on competitive knowledge
Conduct weekly checks on all MineStar Systems to ensure product problems have action plans by partnering with Sitech, TCs and the Branch Teams to complete action items
Communicate product problems and market issues using DSN process and Toromont MineStar Online Ticket System
Manage failure analysis and continuous improvement projects as well as special mining projects to include RFP submissions, sales presentations and new technology product introductions
Generate revenue for repairs to Caterpillar technology products, training courses, new installations and updates
University Degree(s) in Electrical/Mechanical or Post Secondary Education in Electromechanical Trade or IT Systems
Minimum 10 years relevant experience in a similar position with Mechanical, Electrical knowledge as well as Networking and Instrumentation experience
Safety conscious with thorough knowledge of VIMS, Remote Control Systems and Autonomous/Semi-Autonomous Systems
Effective communication skills with the ability to contribute at all levels of the organization
Proven experience in project planning and report writing
Customer centric with proven coaching and people development experience would be an asset
Strategic thinker, analytical, innovative and collaborative problem-solver
Able to build and foster relationships, engaging the commitment of others
Solid business acumen and a mindset for continuous improvement
Sense of urgency with demonstrated ability to address multiple and changing business priorities in support of internal/external customer needs
Strong work ethic, ability to manage the pressure of deadlines and competing priorities
Computer literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Applications
Willing and able to travel to Toromont sites throughout Ontario
Valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
