Job Overview
We are seeking energetic and responsible Camp Instructors to lead engaging STEM-based summer camps for youth ages 9–14. Camps focus on game development for Minecraft and hands-on coding projects.
This role involves leading activities, keeping students engaged, and creating a fun, structured environment where kids can learn and build projects. Ideal candidates enjoy working with youth and have an interest in technology or education.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers throughout the day
- Lead and support coding, game-building, and STEM activities
- Keep students engaged, focused, and having fun
- Assist students with projects and problem-solving
- Facilitate group activities such as board games and team challenges
- Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and organization
- Help transport and manage equipment (laptops, materials, etc.)
- Communicate effectively with staff and follow provided curriculum
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, coaching)
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is a plus
- Interest or background in coding, technology, or STEM is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of diverse backgrounds
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for engaging young minds in learning and play
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle physical activity involved in camp activities
- University students (Computer Science or related fields) or graduating high school students
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all campers
Requirements
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Emergency First Aid with CPR-C and AED or higher certification (Support can be provided if needed)
- Comfortable working with children in a group setting
- Ability to stay active and on your feet throughout the day
- Able to lift and carry equipment when required
Start Date: July 6th, 2026
Training: May require 1–2 days of paid training during the week prior (exact dates to be confirmed)
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
