Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Family Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate would be someone who has at least one year of experience practicing family law in BC, a Legal Aid BC vendor number, and has some trial experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law proceedings (divorce, parenting arrangements, relocation, child support, spousal support, property and debt division, protection orders) in both provincial and supreme court.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on family law matters.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and family law agreements.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in court.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in family law.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Maintain client confidentiality and handle cases with sensitivity and discretion.
What You Offer:
- 1 to 3 years of experience practicing family law in BC.
- Called to the bar in British Columbia and current member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Strong skills in legal drafting, negotiation, writing, and research are essential for success in this role.

- Ability to manage multiple cases and work under pressure.

Compensation:
- Approximate annual compensation of $104,490 to $121,905 (depending on your experience and collected billings).
- The compensation is based on a reasonable 1350 annual billable hour target (112.5 hours per month or roughly 5.4 hours per day).
