We are a brokerage with a strong customer service background, and we are looking for someone who will put the customer’s needs first. The role we are looking to fill would be mainly personal lines insurance sales. You would be responsible for taking inbound quote requests to our brokerage by phone, email, or in person. This is an unscripted position where we are looking for our sales broker to be able to turn conversations into long standing clients who will be supported by our service team.
The individual would need to be proactive and personable with the ability to build strong relationships with everyone in the office. They need to be able to work with minimal supervision and comfortable simplifying insurance coverage to the prospective clients. They must be organized, able to work efficiently, and able switch from task to task with ease. The benefit of this role is that you also get to be a problem solver and help the potential clients find the insurance coverage they need for the best premium you can find them.
Salary for this role would be determined based on experience, with 50% commission being paid on any business that is solicited by the individual (including cross sells). This compensation allows the individual to have a solid base salary with a launchpad to earn more based on sales performance.

- Must strive to meet and exceed all customer expectations.
- Answer in bound sales calls and handle out bound follow up calls.
- Generate quotes, complete applications, process new business sales, bind coverage, prepare documentation and payment follow up.
- Document your sales activity.
- Document, upload, and key in new business to the company portals.
- Keep current on underwriting rules and workflow processes.
- Preferably the role involves on being able to work from both Newcastle and Port Hope locations, but hybrid or remote options could be available for the right candidate.
- Post-Secondary Education or Equivalent Experience
- RIBO License is a requirement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – with the ability to communicate with various age demographics over email, text, and telephone to simplify insurance
- Comfortable with technology and proficient in applications including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Working knowledge of a Broker Management System (BMS) is an asset.
- Knowledge of Power Broker and Applied Rating Services is an asset
- Familiarity with various company portals is an asset
