The Job
WABER Manufacturing Inc. is a modern, rapidly growing and successful metal fabricator located in rural Manitoba midway between Winnipeg and Winkler. We are seeking a full time CNC Press Brake Operator to support our Press Brake Department. The candidate will ideally have experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with metal fabrication including how to read and understand part drawings, procedures and standards. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual as the successful candidate will be able to apply their passion for manufacturing, continuous improvement, growth and development in helping WABER continue to grow and be an industry recognized and world class supplier of metal fabricated parts to OEMs.
Your Position Responsibilities.
· Receiving and understanding Work Instructions. Verbal or Written.
· Perform Machine Set-up and programming for daily production.
· Fabricate products using drawing, work orders and verbal instructions.
· Perform and document FAIs (First Article Inspections).
· Responsible for overall quality and part tolerancing.
· Responsible for meeting all set deadlines and production expectations.
· Observe and adhere to all safety procedures while on the production floor.
· Maintain workstation in a clean and orderly manner.
· Participate in Cross Training when asked.
· Flexibility to adapt to changing work demands, and perform other tasks on the production floor as assigned by Supervisor (Build Pallets, assist in other departments including picking and shipping)
· Participate in team huddles.
Ideal Attributes
· Must be hard working, motivated, well organized and task oriented with a strong attention to detail.
· Basic computer skills.
· Strong communication skills (Written & Verbal)
· Ability to read and interpret part drawings and work orders.
· Ability to read units of measurement.
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift 60-100lbs occasionally.
· Ability to work with hand tools.
· Have a continuous improvement mindset
· Exposure to and understanding of Lean Manufacturing Methodology
· Must have at least 1 year experience operating a CNC Press Brake.
· Forklift Operator Training and License is an asset (Can train & certify)
Work Conditions
· 40 hour work week (Monday to Friday, eight hours per day)
· Day shift: 8:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M.
· Physically Demanding
· Frequent standing, bending, walking and stretching
· Lifting of light and heavy materials.
· Permanent, Full-time.
· On-site Parking
· Not accessibly by Public Transportation.
