Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Meat Packer to join our team in a fast-paced food processing environment. As a Packer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products are packaged efficiently and meet quality standards. This position requires a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Duties
- Package finished products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain order recordkeeping with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Measure and mix recipe blends of spices.
- Assist with maintaining records of supply inventory levels.
- Assist customers from time to time with order drop-off and/or pick-up.
- Sanitate work areas and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations throughout the packaging process.
- Operate packaging machinery and perform basic troubleshooting when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of packaged products and inventory levels.
Skills
- Experience in meat cutting or butchery is not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. French is a bonus but not required.
- Physical ability to bend, twist, reach, use a foot stool, use a ladder, maintain balance; stand for long periods; work in cold environment.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
- Ability to sanitize work areas thoroughly to uphold hygiene standards.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure product quality during packaging.
- Strong teamwork skills with a focus on collaboration and communication.
- Able to work effectively without supervision.
- Ability to organize workspace and manage time effectively in a fast-pace environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy items of at least 60 lbs.
