Position: Pastry Chef
We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Pastry Chefs to join our client's team in Downtown Toronto. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and has a strong foundation in baking and pastry production.
We have fulltime and part time positions available.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare, bake, and present a wide range of pastries including cakes, cookies, tarts, and fruit-based desserts
- Create high-quality baked goods with consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and production schedules
- Decorate and finish pastries using various techniques (icing, glazing, plating, garnishing, etc.)
- Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients, including fresh fruits and perishable items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
- Work efficiently under pressure during large events and high-volume service
- Collaborate with kitchen teams to meet event timelines and client expectations
- Adapt to different kitchen environments across multiple venues in Toronto and surrounding areas
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar baking role
- Hands-on experience preparing a variety of baked goods including fruits, cookies, tarts, and other pastries
- Valid Food Handler Certification (required)
- Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules
- Ability to travel and work at different locations
- Strong attention to detail and passion for quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
