We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Assurance Representative to join our team. Position Overview:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working with the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the QAR assists in quality management system (QMS) implementation, maintenance and improvements in accordance with Regulatory Code(s) compliance. The QAR is responsible for implementing, administering and maintaining the branch Quality Manual. Ensure that process improvements affecting compliance are systematic, controlled and recorded. Identify and implement quality initiatives to increase traceability, compliance and effectiveness of Advance Tank Production Ltd.’s Regina Manufacturing processes. Communicate and deliver quality initiatives to Advance Tank Production Ltd. personnel in a positive demeanor. Prepare and maintain technical procedures, logs, forms and spreadsheets as necessary. Liaise in a professional manner with shop floor, customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies to resolve their issues and\or complaints as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and release finished product (tanks) per CSA B620, and as a Tank Inspector is responsible for:
- Visual examination, inspection of all structural welded components,
- Training, periodic examination and testing of welders,
- Act as B620 compliance officer.
- Participate in and contribute to CSA B620, CMVSS audits, and internal compliance reviews. Other regulatory agencies may be added as needed.
- Local responsibility to:
- Identify and record quality related problems and NCRs,
- Initiate, recommend or provide corrective actions,
- Verify implementation of corrective actions and solutions,
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of any non-conforming item,
- In-process and final inspections,
- Gauge and equipment calibration,
- Inspection and testing,
- Documentation control.
- Assist in investigation and resolution of Warranty issues and NCRs.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation for manufacturing activities.
- Create, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and related forms in use.
- Review and audit job pockets, SWIs\SOPs, reports & inspections; are in compliance with the required regulation\code and AEPL processes\procedures
- Coordinate and maintain training requirements, certifications and expiry records, with support as necessary, to ensure all employees receive the necessary quality orientation and ongoing training as required in their assigned roles.
- Assist in ensuring material & component traceability is established throughout manufacturing processes.
- Adopt principles of continuous improvement in establishing and maintaining a strong quality culture.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the processes required to manufacture, repair, alter/modify, test and inspect the applicable specification cargo tanks, have a High School Diploma, be a qualified Registered Inspector and have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in quality assurance.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Working Knowledge of CMVSS and how it applies to final stage manufacturer of an incomplete vehicle.
- Working knowledge and experience in welding & inspection to related regulations\codes (ASME, CSA, CWB, NBIC, CSA B620, B621 and B622).
- CSA B620 trained and certified, familia with dangerous goods transportation regulations and having or successfully taking ASME Section IX training course(s).
- Able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings (blueprints.)
