What is the opportunity?
Specific location is to be determined however successful incumbent must be mobile to work within the North and South Halton Markets
The Group Associate is a sales specialist responsible for the acquisition of new Sponsors (commercial/small business clients) with less than 20 employees, sourced through internal channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale of Group Savings and for providing advice and proposing solutions relating to RBC Group Advantage plans. You will champion the RBC Group Advantage value proposition with small and medium sized businesses and ensure that the solutions provided through RBC Group Advantage are meeting the needs of the clients and their employees.
What will you do?
Delivers a positive client experience to business owners
Completes discovery, defines and documents sponsor goals, and develops a customized RBC Group Advantage proposal that aligns with the unique needs of the sponsor
Introduces and refers sponsors to the capability of partners and other channels, sharing the value propositions and making referrals to ensure sponsors and clients benefit from the full range of RBC solutions (e.g. Branch, Small Business, Commercial, and other partners)
Takes responsibility for client issues at first point of contact and engage appropriate partners to effectively resolve problems
Works with all partners to develop and execute program launch event(s) and implementation plans for employees
Acquires new Sponsors by partnering with partners in assigned markets to achieve sales goals
Maintains a pipeline of prospects executing activities to ensure deals are progressing and closing to support achievement of individual sales goals
Works in partnership with the in-market teams using a variety of tactics to ensure the Sponsor and their employees are being fully supported
Responsible for coordinating employee enrolment and advice events with Integrated Market teams

Strong relationship builder - able to establish both internal and external working relationships in order to identify and implement strategies for business growth
Proven application of business acquisition, establishing client relationships, and with success in business growth
A strong sales orientation and a demonstrated passion for putting clients first
Action-oriented business acumen and creativity
Ability to self-manage to achieve plan
Excellent presentation, communication, time management and organizational skills
Nice-to-have
Knowledge of Group Savings products (Group RSP, Deferred Profit Sharing Plans, Group Investment Accounts) is an asset
Independent and entrepreneurial spirit
A post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce, Business Administration or related experience
