Test Specialist for Hardware Interface

The Test Specialist for Hardware Interface will be an important member of our newly founded software group at GM Canada, which is part of the larger GM Global Engineering team. The Test Specialist for Hardware Interface will be responsible for planning, tracking and setting up the hardware and equipment required for Infotainment software development and testing. This role will work closely with software development and test teams, hardware teams and program managers during the entire product lifecycle.

What We Need You To Do

Plan and track the test hardware and equipment based on software development and test plan

Integrate and configure the different modules and accessories to make the test hardware and equipment fully functional. Test hardware and equipment may include the boards, connectors, cables, display, and packaged modules for the vehicle etc.

Track the compatibility of software and test hardware and fix the compatibility issue, to ensure the right test hardware configuration to support the testing for different software versions

Manage the test labs to set up the test hardware & equipment, and oversee the daily operations of the test labs.


Who We Are Seeking

4+ years of hardware design, debug and test hands-on experience in automotive, mobile or other embedded system areas

Solid knowledge of hardware and software interface and integration

Solid knowledge of hardware test and manufacturing process and tools

Experience with hardware project management or team management as a plus

Experience with vehicle communication network protocols (CAN, MOST etc) as a plus

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, coordination skills, and interpersonal skills


Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field

Advanced degrees preferred
