Join Our Team: Youth Volleyball Club Head Coach
Are you passionate about volleyball and love mentoring young athletes? Do you have experience coaching in a competitive club context? Lions Volleyball is looking for enthusiastic Part-Time Youth Volleyball head coaches to join our team for the upcoming season.
This is a great opportunity to make a real difference by helping develop skills, teamwork, and confidence of players aged 14 -17. As one of the premier clubs in Calgary, we pride ourselves on fostering a fun, positive, competitive, and supportive environment.
Opportunities:
We presently have 2 head coach positions available and several assistant coach
Responsibilities:
Head coach
- Plan and lead effective and engaging practices for your team, 3 times per week/90 min each
- Coach teams at local and/or travel tournaments, providing in-game strategy and positive support.
- Focus on teaching fundamental volleyball skills (serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking) and team systems.
- Maintain open, professional, and timely communication with players, parents, and the Club Executive Director.
- Uphold the club's philosophy of sportsmanship, discipline, and player development.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience playing or coaching volleyball (club, high school, or collegiate level ).
- Good understanding or willingness to learn volleyball rules, techniques, and strategy.
- Ability to positively motivate and effectively communicate with young athletes.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, primarily evenings and weekends during the season ( Dec - May).
- Successful completion of a background check, and current certifications ,or willingness to obtain them.
