Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, strong time management skills, and familiarity with POS systems such as Shopify POS. Responsibilities
- Take customer orders accurately using POS systems, including Shopify POS
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Handle cash transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper food handling and storage
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly and addressing their needs promptly
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring timely service during busy periods
- Manage time effectively to handle multiple tasks efficiently during shifts
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations
Experience
- Previous barista or food service experience is preferred, especially within the food industry
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Shopify POS is advantageous
- Experience in serving, food preparation, cashiering, or food handling is beneficial
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy hours
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
