Occupational Therapist — Contract | Schomberg, ON
Superminds (www.supermindstherapy.com) is a neuroaffirming pediatric therapy clinic in Schomberg, ON, offering ABA, ESDM, JASPER, SLP, and OT services for autistic and neurodivergent children ages 2–8.
We're expanding our OT team, and we're looking for someone who wants meaningful clinical work, real flexibility, and room to grow.
Clinic Location: 50 Doctor Kay Drive, Unit C18, Schomberg, ON L0G 1T0
WHY SUPERMINDS
At Superminds, neurodiversity is the foundation of everything we do. We lead with connection before compliance, dismantle ableism in our practice and our culture, and build programming that honours each child's autonomy and dignity.
We apply the same philosophy to our team. We see your strengths, invest in your growth, and build a role around what you love and excel at. If you're confident in evidence-based care and want to practice somewhere that keeps therapy child-centered, not compliance-driven, this is your place.
THE ROLE
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll provide consultation, assessment, and treatment to autistic children, with the flexibility to choose a caseload that fits your strengths and schedule.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Consultation, screening, assessment, and treatment
- Setting goals that reflect each child's daily life and family priorities
- Coaching caregivers with practical, real-world home strategies
- Supporting function through individualized equipment recommendations when appropriate
- Targeting regulation and sensory processing, motor coordination and planning, self-care and daily routines, play participation, and school readiness skills that support access and independence
This role can include in-clinic sessions at Schomberg, virtual services for families across York Region, and optional onsite services in surrounding communities; your choice.
HOW WE PRACTICE (NON-NEGOTIABLES)
We are committed to therapy that is neurodiversity-affirming, consent-based and respectful, regulation-supportive, strength-based and functional, not compliance-driven, and fun.
That means we don't use forced eye contact, withhold sensory supports to gain compliance, ignore distress cues, or run punishment or extinction-style programs. We support autistic children through access, accommodation, skill-building, and environmental support.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Professional liability insurance
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Screening (within the last 6 months) or willingness to obtain
- Experience with autistic children is an asset
- Strong organization, clinical reasoning, and communication skills
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive compensation
- Flexible scheduling, Monday to Saturday
- Hybrid model: in-clinic, virtual, and onsite options available
- We handle client intake, scheduling, and admin - so you can focus on clinical work, not paperwork
- In-clinic sessions are fully equipped: materials, equipment, and space provided
- Supportive multi-disciplinary clinic culture
- Growth and training opportunities with a team that values ethical, affirming care
We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted. If contacted, please advise us of any accommodation needs.
