EPRA is the national, non-profit entity chartered with improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Canada’s industry-led and regulated electronics stewardship programs.


Reports to: Director, RQO

Job Location: Toronto/Mississauga, ON (negotiable)

Languages Required: Fluent in French and English, both written and verbal

The Jr. RQP Auditor is responsible for conducting assessments of electronics recyclers in accordance with the Recycler Qualification Program (RQP) in order to make an objective determination of conformance to the requirements of the Electronics Recycling Standard (ERS). This position will support the Director in line with all strategic, business, and operational objectives of the RQO.


  • Conduct recycler assessments and ensure that they are completed in a diligent, unbiased and timely manner
  • Conduct document reviews on recycler applications packages
  • Conduct on-site audits and review recycler operations in a logical and consistent manner, and assess findings against the requirements of the ERS
  • Consistently refer to regulatory requirements and industry standards to assess recycler processes and operations to confirm if adequate programs and/or controls have been implemented and maintained in line with the requirements of the ERS and applicable regulations
  • Track, assess, and follow up on issues to ensure that adequate and effective corrective actions are undertaken
  • Benchmark recycling operations for minimum acceptable and ‘best in class’ control measures
  • Maintain a current understanding of the application of all related environmental regulations and standards
  • Other duties as required, related to the mandate of the RQO



  • Regular contact and communications with recyclers, informing them of compliance issues and acceptance of corrective action plans
  • Provide recycler updates or training on the RQP as required


  • Provide regular verbal updates and written reports on status and results of recycler reviews
  • Provide technical support to the RQO team as required
  • Share information and promote teamwork with local stewardship program operational staff

Working Conditions:

  • Significant travel component – up to 50%
  • Frequent on-site audits at various recycling facilities across Canada and internationally
  • Frequent work in standard office conditions
  • Frequent exposure to industrial environments that may contain potentially hazardous processes and/or materials


  • College diploma or University degree in Environmental Sciences, Business, Finance or related field and minimum of two years work experience, preferably in compliance and/or environmental roles
  • Full English/French bilingual, both written and spoken
  • Work experience in a compliance based role
  • Familiar with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) an asset
  • Experience in interpretation and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety regulations an asset
  • Experience in the electronics or recycling industry an asset
  • Intermediate level Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet skills
