Our business is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as an Automotive Refinish Assistant.
We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of experience in the automotive collision, refinishing or body shop industry who understands the basics of vehicle preparation and is ready to continue developing their skills.
You will work closely with our experienced refinishing technician, assisting with day-to-day refinishing operations while expanding your knowledge and taking on increasing responsibility. The long-term goal is for the right individual to develop into a lead role within our refinishing department.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing vehicles and panels for refinishing
- Sanding, feathering, masking and surface preparation
- Assisting with paint and material preparation
- Assisting with refinishing processes and maintaining quality standards
- Cleaning and maintaining refinishing equipment
- Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work area
- Assisting with spray-in bedliner installations
- Learning and developing skills in bedliner application and specialty coatings
- Working alongside our experienced refinishing technician
- Taking on additional responsibilities as your experience and skill level grow
What we’re looking for
- 1 -2 years of experience in the automotive body shop, collision repair or refinishing industry
- Working knowledge of vehicle preparation, sanding and masking
- Good understanding of shop safety and proper use of tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Takes pride in quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset
