Levert Personnel Resources Inc. is currently recruiting a Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor on behalf of our client, a major mining operation in the Sudbury area. The successful candidate will provide leadership and supervision to a maintenance crew, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with established maintenance plans, schedules and site standards.

This innovative project will unlock new copper and nickel resources by expanding existing underground infrastructure, creating a long-term operation with an estimated 20+ year mine life.

The ideal candidate is a safety-focused maintenance leader with strong fixed plant experience who can effectively lead a skilled trades crew while supporting equipment reliability, maintenance execution and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to fixed plant maintenance personnel.

Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership, hazard observations, planned task observations and regular crew safety meetings.

Set, communicate and monitor individual and crew performance expectations.
-
Coordinate and execute planned, preventive and corrective maintenance activities to meet production and maintenance targets.

Review maintenance priorities and allocate personnel, equipment and resources to support daily work requirements.

Inspect workplaces, equipment and completed work to ensure compliance with safety, maintenance and quality standards.

Identify equipment or workplace deficiencies and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.

Coach and develop employees through regular feedback, performance discussions and annual reviews.

Identify employee training and competency gaps and coordinate required training with the appropriate departments.

Encourage employee participation in maintenance planning, problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain effective communication between shifts through logs, shift handovers and coordination with other supervisors.

Work closely with operations, maintenance planning and other departments to coordinate equipment availability and maintenance activities.

Ensure maintenance activities comply with company procedures and applicable Ontario mining and health and safety legislation.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of progressive fixed plant maintenance experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial environments.

Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience in a maintenance environment.

Journeyperson certification in a relevant trade such as Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Electrician or other applicable trade is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of fixed plant equipment, preventive maintenance and maintenance best practices.

Experience coordinating planned and unplanned maintenance activities and troubleshooting equipment issues.

Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements and hazard identification within mining or industrial environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop trades and maintenance personnel.

Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to coordinate effectively with operations, maintenance planning and other site departments.

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is considered an asset.
