Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Produce Floorman to join our retail team. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of produce departments by ensuring fresh, well-stocked, and organized displays. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to provide outstanding customer service and support daily store operations.
Responsibilities
- Stock and replenish produce displays, ensuring freshness and proper presentation
- Assist with merchandising to optimize product visibility and sales
- Operate forklifts safely for moving heavy or bulk produce items when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the produce area
- Support cashiering duties during peak hours to assist customers efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and guiding shoppers
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and displays
- Organize stockroom inventory and ensure proper storage of produce items
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming shopping environment
Experience
- Prior experience in retail sales, merchandising, or customer service is preferred
- Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is a plus
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Knowledge of cleaning, maintenance, and organizational skills relevant to retail environments
- Previous cashiering experience is beneficial but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
