As a Full-Time Senior Worker at our Special Needs Adult therapeutic program in New Westminster, you will have the opportunity to be part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to young adults with ASD and special needs in a therapeutic home setting. The line is 40 hours/week, Sunday-Thursday, 7am-3pm shifts.
Qualifications:
Related post-secondary education and be willing to complete additional training through Hollyburn
Minimum 2 years of experience working with young adults with special needs and challenging behaviors
Previous experience working with individuals who are non-verbal and using communication tools
Strong clinical, time management, and leadership skills
Confident working alone with clients if necessary
Knowledge of behaviour support and safety plans
Knowledge of therapeutic approaches
Effective crisis management skills
Clear, direct and sensitive verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
Proof of COVID-19 double vaccination record or exemption from the provincial health authority

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
Assist the Program Supervisor and demonstrate independence and responsibility in performance and decision-making
Assist with administration tasks e.g. staff scheduling, accounting, etc.
Provide leadership in the program and demonstrate positive team building on a daily basis
Provide coverage for the Program Supervisor when needed
Attend and participate in team meetings and follow through with decisions
Provide input into house rules and policies, assessments, and care plans
Engage in frequent interaction with the persons-served on a daily basis
Be responsible for daily petty cash while on shift
Conduct program orientations with new staff members
Salary: $24.00-$26.50/hour plus benefits
