Job Summary
As a New Vehicle Sales & Leasing Consultant at Yorkdale Volkswagen, you will deliver an outstanding customer experience while helping clients find the Volkswagen vehicle that best suits their lifestyle and needs. You will guide customers through every stage of the sales and leasing process—from the initial consultation to vehicle delivery—while building long-term relationships and providing expert product knowledge.
Success in this role requires a customer-first mindset, strong communication skills, the ability to generate and cultivate new business opportunities, and a commitment to achieving sales and customer satisfaction goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate new Volkswagen vehicles, leasing, financing, and protection products.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction (CSI) objectives.
- Manage the complete sales process, including:
- Greeting and qualifying customers.
- Conducting vehicle presentations and demonstrations.
- Arranging and accompanying test drives.
- Presenting pricing, leasing, and financing options.
- Negotiating and closing vehicle sales.
- Coordinating seamless vehicle deliveries.
- Following up after the sale to build long-term customer relationships.
- Generate new business through referrals, prospecting, networking, repeat business, and dealership-generated leads.
- Maintain accurate customer information, sales activity, and follow-up records within the dealership CRM.
- Stay current on Volkswagen products, technologies, incentives, leasing programs, financing options, and competitor offerings.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance & Insurance, Service, Parts, and Delivery teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
- Participate in manufacturer training, dealership meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Support dealership marketing initiatives, community events, and promotional activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education is considered an asset).
- Previous automotive sales experience is preferred; proven success in retail, commission-based, or customer-focused sales will also be considered.
- Valid OMVIC license or ability to obtain one.
- Valid Ontario G-Class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of SERTI is considered an asset).
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Working Hours & Conditions
Full-time, permanent position (up to 44 hours per week).
Typical schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Saturday, with evening and Saturday availability required.
Fast-paced, customer-focused dealership environment with changing priorities and sales objectives.
Regular interaction with customers and collaboration with multiple dealership departments.
Combination of indoor showroom and outdoor lot work in varying weather conditions.
