Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The incumbent will be part of Global Networks Operations team. He/she will be responsible for supporting the global Data Networking, security and wireless infrastructure. The job description includes – resolving incidents, deploying changes, working on service requests, addressing problem tickets, involvement in datacenter events and software/hardware refresh. Teams to ensure the smooth, effective, and efficient operation utilizing the available IT service management and Service Delivery tools, applications, processes, procedures etc.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Service delivery (incidents, changes, problem records, service requests) in adherence to industry standard best practices ie. ITIL or approved operational processes
Assist with Design and/or implementation of new infrastructures, concepts and changes to the network in line with business requirements and security guidelines
Configure all network devices to comply with security policies. Ensure that IT security policies are followed at all times
Contribute to intra- and inter-departmental projects, whilst following the project methodology at all times
Provide new and maintain existing technical network diagrams, documentation and associated system processes pertaining to the configuration of the entire network, in line with Company and departmental standards
Provide the necessary escalation support to team
Ability to drive the major incident call and provide the viable solution
Contribute to business continuity and business recovery exercises and requirements, taking part in regular business continuity testing, out of normal business hours, where appropriate
Drive the network operational efficiency and availability initiatives
Demonstrate and deliver excellent service to all clients at all times
Call management, includes logging and taking ownership, updating, closing calls correctly, using the appropriate categories and escalating when appropriate
Actively contribute to improvements that can be made to the Technology infrastructure
Assist with streamlining, simplification and in general improvement of systems’ efficiencies through the effective use of technology, lateral thinking and creativity
Actively contribute in reporting service delivery and operational reviews
Accountable to drive the vulnerabilities management agenda in alignment with security framework

Work Experience / Knowledge:
6+ years in Network & Security administration role

Possess strong working & troubleshooting experience on:
  • Routing & Switching
  • Cisco Nexus
  • Firewall technologies/Network Security –Palo Alto, ForeScout NAC
  • Wireless technology – Aruba, Cisco
  • WAN acceleration & optimization –Riverbed & SilverPeak
  • Load Balancing, High Availability – F5
  • Global Protect VPN
  • Tools – Solarwind, Servicenow, Netbrain
Strong troubleshooting skills
Practical experience in network advanced troubleshooting of dynamic routing protocols, QoS enhancements and high availability/redundancy solutions
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure technologies

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

A Bachelor’s Degree/Master Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred
License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

CCNP or equivalent
ITIL
