Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator - Accounts Payable to join our team. This vital role ensures accurate processing of payments and payroll, supporting our mission to maintain efficient operations and foster community growth. The position will primarily be responsible for providing top-notch customer service with minimal supervision as well as in-office administration support.
Responsibilities
- Processing accounts payable & purchase orders
- Accounts payable management – Statements & Deposits
- Reconciliation of credit cards
- Processing petty cash and credit card payments
- Assist in job costing
- Assisting in payroll reconciliations
- Prioritize calls and emails according to urgency and importance
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization to all visitors, suppliers, inquiries, and other interactions
- Provide information to staff and/or clients about any inquires or requests
- Processing incoming shop paperwork
- Daily reconciliation of various systems and billing
- File maintenance
- Assist the Controller and other office team members as required
- All other duties as required
- Manage accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments using accounting software like QuickBooks.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable statements to maintain financial accuracy.
- Enter data meticulously into accounting systems and maintain organized records.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
- Support human resources functions related to payroll administration.
- Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Customer service skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems
- Proven experience with accounting software.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and accounts payable procedures.
- Process payroll accurately for all employees, utilizing systems would be an asset.
- Excellent data entry and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment laws related to payroll is preferred.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in construction or civil contracting industries is a plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Construction knowledge would be an asset.
- 3-5 years experience in an Accounting related position

Pay: $55,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
