The Wheelsman is responsible for steering the vessel according to officer instructions, maintaining navigational watch, and assisting with bridge operations. Duties include lookout tasks, maneuvering during docking, and supporting navigational safety. This role requires discipline and strong focus.
Qualifications
- Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Bridge Watch Rating (Mandatory)
- MED - STCW Basic Safety & Prof. Survival Craft
- MED - STCW Advanced Fire Fighting
- Passport/C1/D Visa
- Personnel with Security Duties (Preferred)
Essential Skills
- Accurate steering and situational awareness.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm during critical maneuvers.
- Good understanding of bridge protocols.
