The West Four Group of Companies is seeking a skilled and motivated Door Hardware Installer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for installing, adjusting, and inspecting commercial door hardware, hollow metal doors, frames, and related components while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing, construction, or installation environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Install commercial door hardware, including hinges, closers, locks, exit devices, kick plates, thresholds, weatherstripping, seals, and specialty hardware
· Install and adjust hollow metal doors, frames, and related components
· Read and interpret shop drawings, hardware schedules, blueprints, and installation specifications
· Measure, mark, drill, prep, and install hardware accurately according to project requirements
· Ensure doors, frames, and hardware operate properly and meet company and customer standards
· Troubleshoot installation issues and make adjustments as required
· Conduct quality inspections before, during, and after installation
· Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment
· Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies
· Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and movement of doors, frames, and hardware when required
· Collaborate with production, operations, fabrication, and installation teams to meet project timelines
· Communicate any material shortages, damage, deficiencies, or installation concerns to the appropriate supervisor
· Support continuous improvement by identifying installation or process issues
Qualifications & Experience
· Previous experience with door hardware installation, commercial doors, construction, or related installation work preferred
· Experience with hollow metal doors and frames considered an asset
· Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and hardware schedules
· Strong measuring, layout, drilling, and hand-tool skills
· Comfortable using drills, grinders, saws, hand tools, and related installation equipment
· Knowledge of commercial door hardware, including closers, locksets, panic hardware, hinges, and seals considered an asset
· Forklift experience considered an asset
· Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment
· Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
· Valid driver’s licence considered an asset if site work is required
Preferred Skills
· Experience installing commercial hardware on hollow metal doors and frames
· Knowledge of fire-rated doors and hardware requirements
· Basic mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
· General construction, manufacturing, or installation experience
· Ability to work from hardware schedules and installation instructions
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adjust hardware for proper fit and function

Pay: $23.45-$32.71 per hour
