We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and customer-focused Furniture Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for home furnishings, enjoys helping customers create spaces they love, and thrives in a sales-driven environment. As a key member of our showroom team, you will guide customers through the buying process, provide expert product knowledge, and build lasting relationships through exceptional service.
This role combines sales, merchandising, and customer support to ensure every customer enjoys a positive and memorable shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to the showroom and assist them in finding furniture and home décor that suits their needs, style, and budget.
- Build rapport with customers and provide personalized recommendations to help them furnish their homes with confidence.
- Demonstrate product features, benefits, and construction details, including fabrics, leathers, reclining mechanisms, adjustable bases, and mattress technologies.
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals through effective selling and upselling techniques.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle payments professionally.
- Maintain an attractive, organized, and inviting showroom by merchandising displays and ensuring products are presented to company standards.
- Assist with inventory tasks, including receiving merchandise, stocking accessories, and replenishing showroom displays.
- Support promotional events, sales campaigns, and special in-store initiatives.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and care.
- Answer phone calls courteously and provide accurate information regarding products, pricing, and availability.
- Follow company policies and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming work environment.
- Assist with the movement and setup of furniture displays as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service; furniture sales experience is considered a strong asset.
- A passion for sales and helping customers create comfortable, stylish living spaces.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and lasting customer relationships.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are an asset.
- Experience using POS systems and QuickBooks is preferred.
- Basic math skills and accuracy when handling transactions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional phone etiquette and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Confidence in demonstrating products and explaining features and benefits to customers.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with upselling and achieving sales targets is preferred.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry furniture and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, and assist with showroom setup and product movement as needed.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
