The Opportunity
As Site Supervisor, you are the driving force on our construction sites - the person who connects planning to execution and ensures our teams work safely, efficiently, and with pride in their craft. You will collaborate closely with the Project Coordinator and Shop Supervisor to deliver projects on schedule and to Holz quality standards, while building a positive, high-performing site culture.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations and Quality
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all stages
- Lead the team on site by working with them and showing them best practices
- Conduct regular quality and safety inspections, identifying and resolving deficiencies promptly
- Review trades work and report deficiencies with clear action plans
- Manage material takeoffs for upcoming project phases and create orders via Procore
- Ensure adequate inspection of delivered products against technical specifications
Team Leadership and HR
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Site Lead and site team, fostering a positive and respectful culture
- Define labour and resource requirements to meet project safety, schedule, and quality goals
- Manage HR tasks including absences, vacation, coaching, disciplinary actions, and hiring support
- Develop and execute training plans aligned with the Skills Matrix
- Participate in onboarding of new site staff and support their professional growth
Project Documentation and Communication
- Oversee Procore usage - daily logs, photos, deficiency reports, inspections, and material requests
- Manage materials, deliveries, and site storage in alignment with project schedules
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings and installation manuals
- Communicate site needs, challenges, and resource requirements to the Leadership Team
- Maintain accurate records of project progress and site conditions
Safety and Compliance
- Make all reasonable efforts to protect the health and safety of all workers under supervision
- Report all health and safety issues promptly and ensure compliance with company and legislative standards
- Operate forklift and use hand tools, power tools, and ladders as required and trained
- Ensure all required safety, leadership, and operational training is completed
What You Bring
Required
- 6+ years of experience in construction site operations, with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate multi-disciplinary site teams
- Proficiency in reading architectural, structural, and shop drawings
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams/Zoom)
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain - will be required)
- Forklift Operation licence (or willingness to obtain - will be required)
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's licence; access to a vehicle is preferred
- Access to and ability to use a smartphone (Android or iOS) with a data plan
Assets
- Experience with mass timber, prefab, or modular construction
- Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
- Advanced knowledge of power tools (circular saws, mitre saws, nail guns)
- Previous trades background or hands-on construction experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $35- $45/hr(commensurate with experience)

- Minimum 2 weeks paid vacation (3+ weeks competitive)

Work Environment
- Standard hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Primarily based at Holz Constructors Winnipeg facility and active project sites
- Occasional overtime, weekend work, or travel may be required based on project demands
- Physical role performed in varied weather and environmental conditions
- Must provide and wear CSA-approved steel-toe safety boots
