We are seeking a dynamic IT professional to work in Winnipeg Manitoba. Reporting to the Supervisor of Data Center Services,

you will be responsible for managing our corporate Microsoft server infrastructure. Additionally, the ability to work in Citrix and

RedHat Linux environments would be considered an asset.

  • Build, deploy and maintain Microsoft servers in a VMware environment
  • Build, deploy and maintain VMware host infrastructure
  • Deploy SCCM packages and maintain the SCCM application
  • Coordinate server hardware installations and upgrades
  • Deploy and troubleshoot applications in a Citrix environment
  • Procure hardware and software as requested
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in Remedy
  • Manage the support agreement renewal process for various hardware and software contracts
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Participate in large IT projects that span multiple departments
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Develop strong working relationships with other areas of the ITS Division
  • Work with end users and other technical groups to resolve complex system problems when necessary
  • Create and update technical documentation as required
  • A four year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from a university of recognized standing plus a minimum of
three years of experience directly related to network architecture


  • A two year diploma in Computer Technology from an institute of recognized standing plus a minimum of five years of
experience directly related to network architecture

  • Obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba Hydro
policy P45D

  • Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed and renewed annually
  • Demonstrated understanding of server infrastructure and operating systems, including VMware, Citrix, SCCM, and Microsoft

  • Demonstrated understanding of IT security concepts and controls
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of server hardware/software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of server virtualization concepts
  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement in an IT environment
  • Strong teamwork skills with the desire and ability to mentor junior staff
