Part-Time Maintenance Technician – HVAC & Restaurant Equipment

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair needs of our four Tim Hortons restaurants located in Nanaimo and Duncan. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC systems and commercial restaurant equipment and be able to respond to maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on restaurant kitchen equipment, including:
- Coffee and beverage equipment
- Refrigeration and freezer units
- Ovens and toasters
- Ice machines
- Iced Capp and frozen beverage equipment
- Small kitchen appliances
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns as required.
- Coordinate with external service providers when specialized repairs are needed.
- Maintain maintenance records and repair logs.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce repair costs.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
- Experience repairing and maintaining restaurant or commercial kitchen equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift and move equipment when required.
