We are recruiting for a Broodstock Technician to join our Breeding and Broodstock team. This is a unique opportunity for individuals to gain experience in land-based site settings as well as marine environments depending upon the needs of the Breeding and Broodstock production plans.
Applicants with aquaculture experience and/or relevant post-secondary education will be given preference as we are a company that embraces constant learning and industry professionalism. The ability to get along with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures is paramount. Successful applicants must be physically fit, able to work in challenging weather conditions and have a passion for taking care of animals.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Feeding and performing all other required care for our fish
- Broodstock handling and spawning
- Cleaning, power-washing and sanitizing to ensure a pristine environment for our fish and our employees
- Ensuring accurate reporting, record-keeping, and document management
- Conducting water quality checks, environmental and fish health sampling
- Monitoring fish behavior, appearance and health
- Operating site equipment (i.e., forklift, site boat) when authorized and trained
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Must have valid BC Class 5 drivers licence

Wage: $26.31 to $29.90 / hour
